Who We Are
Our strategy, 2023 to 2026
'Living Beyond ABI' is our plan to support and empower everyone affected by acquired brain injury.
Living Beyond ABI
Brain Injury Matters was established in 2013 to support and empower children, adults, carers and families affected by acquired brain injury. Our strategy sets out how we'll build on that over the next three years.

How we work
Everything in our strategy is shaped by four commitments.
Evidence informed
Clinically led and grounded in evidence.
Innovative & collaborative
Working in partnership to do things better.
The whole person
Considering every part of a person's life, not just their injury.
Early intervention
A holistic perspective that recognises the value of acting early.
Our strategic priorities
Four priorities will guide our work between 2023 and 2026.
1. Children & youth services
Helping young people and families affected by ABI build a greater sense of independence, self-confidence and self-esteem.
2. Adult services
Helping adults and families affected by ABI build a greater sense of independence, self-confidence and self-esteem.
3. Engagement & advocacy
Establishing BIM as a key part of the ABI landscape, raising public awareness, delivering advocacy and improving access to statutory services.
4. A stable, effective organisation
Building a sustainable income base and supporting our staff, board and volunteers to deliver.
